Dance To The Beat Of Your Own Drum With WEDDING JAM

A wedding is your very own Festival of Love, and any self respecting festival is all about the music. My mother certainly didn't sneak into Glastonbury year in, year out, in the back of a van, back in the 80s to listen to Gangnam Style vs Lady In Red blasted on repeat through tinny speakers for an entire weekend. No siree, she did not. Music is a powerful tool to create the perfect atmosphere for your big day, and helps to cement lifelong lasting memories for yourself and your guests. It's certainly not something to slack on.

Here at Most Curious we place value on a bespoke service that speaks to our beloved almost-newlyweds' unique story. That is why we heart WEDDING JAM something chronic.! Founded by DJ Paul McGuire, Wedding Jam is an all encompassing music agency, focusing on providing brides and grooms alike with a diverse range of highly accomplished DJs, bands and singers. Wedding Jam start the process of matching your own Festival of Love with the right DJ or muso with an in depth consultation with the happy couple (or VIPs as we like to think of them.)

Whether you are hardcore lovers of northern soul or an eclectic mix of a chart-loving princess paired with a heavy metal rocker, Wedding Jam will seamlessly create the perfect vibes for you both, allowing you to dance to the beat of your own drum. As well as offering a portfolio of DJs with seriously heavy CVs, string quartets, smooth crooners and swinging bands; Wedding Jam can also work with you to make more specific audio dreams come true. Impromptu African drumming circle, you ask? No problemo. The lyrical soprano tones of an operatic diva, you request? Sorted. It's all about you guys. We love Paul's co-operative approach of pulling together all his talented friends and colleagues together onto a shining platform of awesomeness from which we can pick, and we simply cannot wait to welcome him and his team to our London show this year!

We asked Paul about his best career moments thus far and his musical inspirations in the run up to the fair...

Why did you decide to set up your own business?

Starting my own company wasn’t so much a decision, as an organic process. I was a full time teacher with a background in DJ’ing, and as a result of playing at a few friends’ weddings, I went from marking books to mixing records. Spotting a gap in the market for alternative, or ’non cheesy’ weddings, word soon spread, and I started taking bookings across the UK. Wedding Jam gave me a platform to bring together the venues, DJs, and musicians I’d worked with over the years under one umbrella and push my own business ideas in the form of an agency.

What's been the coolest/best moment of your career so far?

Over the past six years there have been many surprising, inspiring, and delightful moments. More recently, it would have to be playing to a packed room at a wedding in a castle in Geneva, or performing alongside Hackney Colliery Brass Band, where the full brass ensemble whipped up a frenzy of dance and laughter.

Without a doubt though, the most fulfilling moment on a personal level was providing the music for a terminally ill gentleman who got married in Clatterbridge Hospital where we provided an acoustic singer, Jacob Jones. It wasn’t just the honour of being in a position to contribute in this way, but the realisation that music can unite, and uplift in the most challenging situations. Jake closed his set as the happy couple left the room to huge applause - that memory really stands out for me.

Who or what inspires you?

My family and friends primarily, but in a business sense, I love the challenge of helping a couple realise their wedding dreams through music. At the start of the year we put together a flash choir of over twenty singers in just three days to perform one song. It was a suprise from the grooms’ brother and the couple were overwhelmed. It was highly rewarding and gave the Wedding Jam team a real boost.

What words would you use to describe the trends for 2017?

Festival, visual, love.

We can't wait to introduce you guys to Wedding Jam at the Old Truman Brewery this March. Don't forget to grab your TICKETS here whilst you can!

  2. Wedding move styles for the lady of the hour and prep's initially move, father-little girl move, mother child wedding move and moving at the gathering incorporate waltz, foxtrot and moderate moving however as of late numerous more move styles have turned out to be famous. A few couples pick a sentimental, moderate tune, others decide on a lively, vivacious tune or a (blend) beginning moderate and sentimental at that point breaking into a quick move or free-form.
We picked the best wedding initially move schedules from the web with move styles including conventional music like waltz, ease back move or foxtrot to the swing, Lindy jump or jitterbug, and in addition, Latin determinations like rumba, mambo, salsa and some concoction schedules. jfc28fire
